'American Idol' Results: Ashthon Jones Goes Home
S10E17: Last night we not only found out who was going home, but we also found that audience favorite (and all around awesome guy) Casey Abrams is in the hospital yet again, making us all a little worried that his Idol journey might get cut short if his health continues to be an obstacle. Though Ryan Seacrestkept the suspense about who was in the bottom three to a minimum, puttingAshthon Jones, Haley Reinhart, and Karen Rodriguez in the hot seat early on in the episode, they saved the hardest part for last. Ashthon received the lowest number of votes and was thus given the chance to redeem herself. If she blew the judges away, they could use their one and only save for the whole season to keep her in the competition. Ashthon took to the stage to try another hand at "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" by Diana Ross, and by the time she reached the end, she was in tears. Unfortunately for the singer, Jennifer Lopezdelivered the unanimous vote not to use the save for her and she was sent off as a montage of her time on Idol played while her teary face showed up in a picture in picture format so we could all see how upset she was. A little harsh, don't you think? She just lost, we could give her a little space and just watch the video. But that's just me.But did she deserve to go home? I think so, though I certainly didn't expect her to be sent away before Karen Rodriguez. While I'm not a huge fan of Ashton's because I think she really needs to figure out how to use her voice -- the talent is there, but it badly needs some polish -- I do think she deserved the chance to stay a bit longer and perhaps have the chance to improve. However, even if Karen went home this round, unless Ashthon amazed us all in the following weeks, her departure probably wouldn't be that far behind.

Julianne Moore Will Play Sarah Palin in 'Game Change' Adaptation
After a stint on 30 Rock as Jack Donaghy's high school girlfriend revealed Julianne Moore was more than capable of playing people who have accents from interesting places like Boston, it makes sense now that she'd be chosen to play Sarah Palin in HBO Films' adaptation of John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's book, Game Change. As a chronicle of John McCain's campaign for the presidency in 2008, the book also covers what went into the process of selecting Palin as a running mate and provides insight as to what it was like for McCain to lose the general election to Obama. Surely Moore will do a killer portrayal of the Alaskan hockey mom's mannerisms (one of which in the past has been cradling fish hearts in her hands), but she quite possibly might have to go back to TGS if she's looking to get help in nailing that accent.Source: Hollywood Reporter
Lindsay Lohan Rejects Plea Bargain
As expected, Lindsay Lohan went to court today and rejected the prosecutor's plea agreement that included time in jail for stealing a necklace that we're way too obsessed with, considering it doesn't even have anything like a charm hanging off of it. Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz's reaction was one of displeasure, but he decided to give Lindsay one more chance to plead guilty or no contest to the theft charges, and asked that she come back on March 25th with a decision. If Lindsay goes back to Judge Schwartz and informs him she will not plead guilty nor plead no contest, Judge Stephanie Sautner will hold a preliminary hearing on April 22nd, which is when the prosecutors will begin presenting evidence against her. TMZ claims the judge will surely find Lindsay guilty of violating her parole, which means she will be held in jail until her trial begins. If convicted, she could serve three years in prison, which will of course will be reduced because she's not a violent criminal and because Los Angeles hasn't figured out that the problem of overcrowded jails can be solved by the person who realized it's important for playgrounds to have more than one slide.Source: TMZ
